These older sources have a much shorter lifespan than DVD because of their magnetic makeup. Over time this can degrade to where the picture and sound  is virtually un-viewable.

The process we use  involves running the footage into our  computer with high end digitizing equipment, and balancing the original footage for reliable continuity. We then create an image master for DVD output  which will then be used for creating finished product.
